Pakistan’s most successful Test captain, Misbah-ul-Haq, has lamented the lack of bilateral cricket ties with India.
In an interview Saturday, Misbah said that he was against limitations of any kind in athletics.
“These restrictions are because of politics and political problems between Pakistan and India. But I really don’t believe this should be the situation as cricketers and fans have been not aware of good contests,” he said.
Misbah, 42, that hasn’t led Pakistan in a Test series against India even though being because late 2010, didn’t think that the Indian group didn’t wish to play Pakistan.
“They, like us, can’t do anything because there are other problems involved here. I am sure when things enhance politically there will be between Pakistan and India,” he added.
He lamented that young gamers from the countries were not getting the opportunity to have a feel of Indo-Pak cricket games, which assist them develop as players.
“It’s good that we now have our team (like IPL) and it’s been a major success in only two decades. I am sure next year there will be widespread interest in the Pakistan Super League from the individuals, sponsors and stakeholders.”
Misbah, when requested to compare with the IPL together with PSL, said they had been distinct leagues and that the Indian marketplace for cricket was very different from Pakistan.
“But I believe that because the IPL has now been there because 2007 people’s interest in it’s dropped. I see more interest in our new league. There is always a projection stage for all,” he said.
