South Africa pace spearhead Dale Steyn, who’s eyeing a comeback to international cricket, has ruled himself from the Sunfoil Series’ action which begins next week, stating he’s decided “to not play right now”.

This assertion out of Steyn has dealt a blow to the Proteas who would be hosting Bangladesh from the two-match Test series, followed by 2 T20Is and three ODIs.

Steyn has been out because he obtained his right shoulder fractured during Australia’s first innings of the Test against South Africa, which the Proteas went on to win by 177 runs in the WACA Ground in Perth.

ICC hires security company in bid to resume cricket Cricket

Confirming the news, newly-appointed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi revealed that creation of the worldwide security business is the initial step towards the resumption of cricket in the country.

He explained that the security organization is expected to pay a visit to with the nation either through the week of August or the first week of September.

A Sri Lankan delegation also flew to Lahore through the PSL closing and Sethi considers that the former’s positive report about the security agreements had plagued Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to agree upon a brief visit to Lahore through their forthcoming series against Pakistan.

Lanka are expected to play with a max of two T20Is in Lahore in September.

ICC mulling bid for cricket inclusion in 2024 Olympic Games : News, Cricket

The time is right for cricket to go back to the Olympics along with a choice on applying for inclusion in 2024 will need to be produced within weeks said on Thursday.

The creator of the modern Olympics was enthusiastic about cricket, a sport dominated by Britain and British colonies such as India and Australia, but it has featured at a Games – at Paris in 1900.

“We need to create a determination by, I imagine, July of this year to ensure people could submit an application by September,” Dave Richardson, chief executive of the International Cricket Council (ICC), told reporters.

“And of course it is not exactly what cricket needs, its whether the IOC wants us.”

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will choose between 2024 bid cities Paris and Los Angeles in a meeting in Lima in September, together with brand new sports too under consideration. Baseball and softball have been set to reunite at 2020 in Tokyo.

Richardson said it did not matter which town won the bid.

“The two (cities) will … likely be opportunistic for us, especially the U.S. alternative, but also in Europe,” he said in the SportsPro Live seminar at Wembley Stadium.

“You would need to devote a bit more money on cricket pitches in France than at the U.S. but it is not impossible.”

“I think that the majority of the members, and clearly myself, think the time is correct,” Richardson added. “I think we’ve come to the conclusion that the general benefit to the game of assisting to globalise grow and it will outweigh any negatives.”

Richardson explained any approach is for cricket’s shortest format.

The IOC had made clear that there were limits on athlete numbers, which could indicate a contest of six to eight federal sides at level.

There have been concerns while preventing the calendar in a time of the cricket season could be an additional headache that inclusion can damage the sport’s own occasions.

The issues that golf endured, with many leading players could count against cricket. Golf returned last year at Rio for the first time since 1904.

West Indies and England couldn’t compete as such. Britain represents the home countries at the Olympics along with England, while Jamaica and other Caribbean countries compete. However, India could have a true decoration opportunity.
