Afghanistan made their debut in the ICC Cricket World Cup
After being granted a fixture against the MCC, the cricketers of Afghanistan will play at Lord.
The 50-over match in the home of world cricket was supported by the Marylebone Cricket Club on Friday.
“I am thrilled that we will be welcoming Afghanistan to Lord’s this summer,” MCC president Matthew Fleming explained.
“I’ve observed first-hand the talent and passion for cricket the country has, and that fixture may only be a fantastic thing for its continuing growth of Afghan cricket.”
New Zealander Brendon McCullum will stunt the MCC for its match on July 11 – the day after the finish of England’s test match against South Africa.
Afghanistan made their debut in 2015 in the ICC Cricket World Cup, superbly defeating Scotland and pushing Sri Lanka hard.
