ICC rules out Amazing return of international Awards to Pakistan : Cricket

Highlights

  • Pakistan staged a T20I series vs World XI.

  • Pakistan clinched the string series 2-1.

  • World XI received reception .

“Returning full-time global awards back to Pakistan is not likely to become an overnight miracle. It must take time. The PSL final was the very first step, this is the second,” ICC Chief Executive David Richardson said in a movie speeches on Saturday.

“We’ve now proven that events can be staged in 1 city on a short time period at a Twenty20 arrangement. The next steps need to be accepted, can they be rolled out at more than 1 city within a longer time period meaning. Possibly the next steps would be a tour by a Full Member country rather than a composite group.”

Happy with the tournament’s conduct, Richardson said this provides a lot of confidence to big teams such as Australians and South Africans.

“I am extremely happy. Back in 2009, the assurance in the safety scenario in Pakistan was obviously at an all-time reduced. And after on, within the past 12 to 24 months, the advancements made by the Pakistan security forces proved to be a catalyst for moving out of this phase of playing in neutral lands to attempt to generate a bid to bring international awards back into Pakistan,” he said.

“The principal objective of this really is to attempt to construct confidence from the likes of the Australians, South Africans and other states that the danger can be managed and this tour has shown – that is the situation.

“The safety agreements weren’t unprecedented, yes, they had been acute, but most importantly, everybody realised that it is all very good to get a safety program on paper but can it be implemented? And that is a question that they replied in the positive,” Richardson added.

Stated the occasion will a big step towards awards and the World XI received reception.

“The response of the Pakistanis that were in the ground is something I have not ever seen in my entire life. I think this brave group, its management and most of those in Pakistan have demonstrated that it is possible for overseas players to come to Pakistan and show their skills,” he said.

“It has been a fantastic tournament. From my viewpoint, as Chairman of the ICC’s Pakistan Task Team, I am very pleased that we have realized this and I am sure the players will talk to their colleagues and we’ll observe the return of bilateral global cricket into Pakistan.”

Richardson, who attended the T20I, said the reason for staging the Independence Cup was supposed to show that it is possible to host a tournament in Pakistan.

“Some of the main reasons for filming the tour was as a stepping stone to building the assurance that although there could be some threat to staging sports events or visiting Pakistan, the Pakistan security agencies are more than capable of mitigating the danger,” he said.

“The safety arrangements with being implemented so well, we can call it a triumph. The players that arrived on the tour witnessed the safety arrangements firsthand and can return and report back this though there can be some level of risk, it can be managed efficiently.”
